WHO WE ARE

Rooftop Musical Society began on a Brooklyn rooftop in 2018 with a simple idea: theater can happen anywhere. Today, based in New York's Hudson Valley, we create immersive performances, film events, concerts, and theatrical gatherings that transform unexpected spaces into places of connection. Whether it's a musical staged in a park, a secret concert in a loft, an interactive film screening, or an intimate community event, our work blends live performance, storytelling, and a sense of play to create experiences that audiences don't just watch… they become part of.

“Rooftop Musical Society is a magical company with a rare combination of talent, production quality and a warm, inspiring vibe. You can’t find better humans. They recently mounted a version of Sam Carner’s and my musical Island Song, and we were blown away and moved. I’m so happy they’re part of our theatre community and honored to call them contemporaries.”
— Derek Gregor, Composer of Island Song

CURRENT SHOWS:

Rooftop Musical Society is partnering up our upstate sister company Stage & Sips for an immersive Hamilton Experience.

Friday, July 3rd, 2026

On July 3rd, Stage & Sips and Rooftop Musical Society are partnering with the City of Peekskill for an outdoor immersive cinematic event! Before Hamilton lights up the big screen in Pugsley Park, we’ll be bringing the world surrounding the musical to life with live performances, revolutionary-era characters, colonial games, music, debates, and immersive theatrical moments throughout the park.

Cast your vote in the Election of 1800. Meet King George. Sign the Declaration of Independence- quill pen and all. Wander between the American and British camps. Then, as the sun sets, we’ll gather for a screening of Broadway’s Hamilton (with a few added surprises).

The best part? It’s completely free! Celebrate 250 with us!

NEWS:

MARCH 2026

Rooftop Musical Society helped our upstate sister company Stage & Sips with an immersive Moulin Rouge Cabaret and Cinema Experience

For one special evening, The Grand in Croton-on-Hudson transformed into bohemian Paris for an immersive cabaret experience inspired by the spirit of the Moulin Rouge, followed by a screening of the film MOULIN ROUGE (2001)!

Paris came alive with accordions, singers, dancers, poets, and artists sketching in the shadows. Then, the cabaret began! French drinking songs. Impromptu poetry readings. Jealousy. Tango. Can-can. All your favorite stars of the 1890s. Then right as the cabaret reached its peak, it spilled into an absinthe- fueled screening of MOULIN ROUGE.

What a party, what a night!

From April 26-May 4th, guests filed into our secret speakeasy 62 Orchard for a wild musical romp - Andrew Lippa’s The Wild Party presented in an immersive theater in the round style performance! We are thrilled to have sold out our entire run of seven performances and are extremely proud of the hard work that the cast and crew put into this production.
