Audition Notice
‘Island Song’ by Carner & Gregor
Performances: May 18, 19, 20, 21, 2023
We are looking for a diverse group of actors to represent the New York we see around us.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
Island Song takes us through a year in the lives of seven twenty-and-thirty-somethings living in New York City and the chain of surprising, poignant, and partially random connections that bring them into each other’s spheres at pivotal moments.
It is a poignant, off-beat dramedy with a kinetic pop-rock score (boasting 9 MAC-nominated songs) that premiered at the Adirondack Theatre Festival in 2016. The show has since released a cast album featuring Jeremy Jordan, Jackie Burns, Kimiko Glenn, Lilli Cooper, and Troy Iwata. (Which can be found on Spotify!) It has been performed in London, Tokyo, Singapore, Bologna, Paris, and at dozens of colleges and theatre companies around the US.
Since ‘Island Song’ takes place in NYC, we've booked a warehouse venue space in Bushwick, a thriving artist-filled area of Brooklyn, where we are using a unique set layout, actor interaction, and other immersive elements to drop our audience deeper into the show's story.
Direction: Nick Cartusciello & Music Direction: Lindsay Burstedt
